Now, some you might not agree, but I think there is a bit about running an election that Americans can learn from the Bosnians. I’m speaking, of course, about the Bosnian mayoral candidate that is putting porn clips on his campaign site. Americans always seem to think they have something to teach the world about running elections, but I think this guy has a few things to teach us.
I mean, I hardly think I’m the only one in this country who is sick to death of the election already. We are bombarded by campaign advertisements constantly, each making wild claims and attempting to manipulate emotions. Frankly, even the coverage I see for the candidates I support pisses me off and makes me not want to vote for them. It all just seems repetitive and pointless. The whole deal is just getting too much.
But Mirad Hadziahmetovic (Mirad Hadziahmetovic is an independent candidate with a reportedly relatively slim chance of winning the October election in Zenica, Bosnia-Herzegovina), on the other hand, is doing things a little differently. Apparently, he’s put up porn on his campaign site. Visitors must answer some campaign related questions, but then they get porn. At the end, Mirad Hadziahmetovic asks them to vote for him if they liked the clip. Genius.
Reportedly, Mirad Hadziahmetovic figured that most people use the Internet to look for porn. I guess he figured he might as well just go with it.
Now, I know not everyone approves of porn…but at least it’s something different from the campaign crap we’re getting overwhelmed with now. I gotta give the guy props for that at least. Heck, I would have even thought about voting for him…if not for the fact that I’m not registered to vote in Zenica, Bosnia-Herzegovina.
