Personally, I would not suggest dressing up as Batman in order to fight crime. However, if you were, I might suggest that you not look like the Adam West version of Batman. You may dig that Batman, but the police probably won’t take you seriously.
You may doubt my advice, but just read this article about Mark Wayne Williams. Apparently, Mr. Williams has been arrested for obstructing police looking for a hit and run driver because he was dressed as Batman and refused to leave them alone. According to the article, Williams wanted to help find the driver, but kept getting in the way of the dogs tracking the suspect. Worse, this is the second time Williams has been arrested for the same thing.
Now, before we get into a debate about whether or not Williams really could help the police or not, just take a look at him in costume:
That’s right, at least to me, his costume looks a bit too much like the Adam West Batman. Although, I admit it isn’t blue and doesn’t have rounded ears. Heck, maybe it looks a lot different than the Adam West Batman. Regardless, I’m thinking Adam West when I see this.
Is it any wonder that he can’t get the police to take him seriously? Would you take him seriously? Would Adam West even take him seriously?
I don’t think so. Poor Williams. I’m sure he intends to do something good. Whether or not he is capable of such or should have just stayed out of the way is outside the scope of this discussion. Regardless, he could have done a little more to look more professional.

That was last May’s gear. He and Batgirl have updated as of July this year.
I have a feeling that this guy doesn’t have a batgirl.

My mistake…and apparently hers as well.
Frightening, no?
In so many ways and on so many levels…
