I’ve noticed that zombies are a big deal now. I haven’t taken part in any events yet, but I keep hearing about gatherings where people show up dressed as zombies. Fun as this is, I don’t know if people have really thought this through. After all, with all these events where people dress as zombies…how are we going to know when a zombie apocalypse really occurs?
I can just see it now. You are at a zombie event. Things are good, your zombie costume is impressive and people are having fun. Some people might even be drinking. Then, BAM! Somebody eats your brains.
Seriously, if everyone dresses as zombies…how will we be able to tell when we really are invaded by zombies? The short answer is that we won’t, and that’s dangerous. Clearly, I don’t think people have thought this through adequately. Otherwise they would not have left us so clearly exposed to the zombie menace.
I’m not saying that people shouldn’t have fun. I’m not even saying that we shouldn’t have fun events where people dress as zombies. I’m just saying we should think about this for a bit. We obviously need a plan as to how we will detect actual zombies at a zombie costume event. Fun is fun and that’s fine, but it is folly to not plan for all possibilities when we are talking about the zombie apocalypse.
Just remember, keep calm and kill zombies. That is all.
The smell MIGHT alert to the difference. Except for those drinking…they might not smell the difference. They will just have the last thought of “Wow, that due has the cooles……”
I’m sure the good zombie costumes involve a smell component. As such, still no way to tell until the brain eating starts.
*dude
I don’t think the smell of rotting flesh is easy to replicate. Though maybe rotting pig flesh might be close.
Rotting anything would probably suffice. I admit that the smells are probably very different, but most people probably don’t know the difference between one horrible rotting smell and another.
