Get this, doctors are issuing warnings that certain energy drinks have high levels of caffeine. Hold the presses! Send out an all points bulletin! Alert the media! Think of the children! By the way…in other news: the sun is hot, water is wet, and cats and dogs don’t tend to get along very well.
Seriously? Doctors feel the need to issue this kind of warning? Is there anyone who didn’t think that the average energy drink had a bunch of caffeine in it? Sure, there are a few that use some other stimulant or some other such thing so they can say low caffeine, but the majority use caffeine. That’s where the energy comes from.
Frankly, if I pick up an energy drink, I’m expecting that there is going to be a crap load of caffeine in there. Usually that’s why I’m picking it up. I know it isn’t healthy, but sometimes I do it anyway. I don’t need to be told this by a doctor.
I’m just amazed that doctors thought this was news. Worse, to some people it probably is. There probably are people out there who didn’t know that many energy drinks contain a high amount of caffeine. However, I doubt that such people pay a whole lot of attention to what doctors say. Of course, that’s just my take on it.
