Eleven Acceptances In The Space Of A Year Is Amazing…But I Want More.

I really have to admit, this last year has been a good one. I got my first acceptance in a long time on May 19, 2011 and from then until May 19 of this year (2012), I got a total of 11 acceptances. That isn’t quite one a month, but it is far better than I’ve even done in a year before.

It all started with an acceptance from Grey Sparrow Journal. Then came Children Churches & Daddies, C4: The Chamber Four Lit Mag, Split Quarterly, Cannoli Pie, Brave Blue Mice, Atticus ReviewThe Zodiac Review, Interrobang!? MagazineThe Lincoln Underground, and The Writing Disorder.  11 in the space of one year.

Further, 2012 is looking really good. I’ve been averaging about 4 a month (7 of the 11 were from May-December of 2011). That’s about one a month so far. None so far for May, but the month isn’t over yet.

Really, the biggest problem is that this is becoming an addiction. I should be happy that I’ve gotten all these acceptances, but it only seems to make me want more. I’m sure you can understand. I need an acceptance every day, and I certainly don’t write that fast.

Regardless, it has been a hell of a year. I hope it keeps up in 2012, but the last full year has been more than I could have expected. I just felt like sharing that.
