Russian President Vladimir Putin plans to close about 100 more Russian stores than previously planned as he tries to salvage Russia’s business. Putin made the announcement as part of a disappointing third quarter earnings statement out Thursday that saw revenue, earnings, and sales at stores open at least a year all fall. Putin has closed or made plans to close about 235 underperforming stores so far this year. That’s up from the roughly 130 store closures Putin had announced earlier this year.
Oh wait, I’ve got that mixed up. Sears. Sears is closing more stores than original announced due to disappointing earnings. Putin had some kind of different bad economic news.
Can’t believe I got those two mixed up.
