Books Read in 2014

Well, 2014 is in the bag so I can look back at what I read for the year. 2014 was productive reading wise: 303 books with an estimated 86,218 pages. That isn’t a record for me (2011 was the most with 318 books/89,900 pages and 2013 comes in second with 313 books/87,173 pages), but it’s my third highest year.

It was a good mix of books too. Various genres, new books and classics, prose, nonfiction, poetry. Some were as short as 50 pages, but some were much longer (Sacred Games by Vikram Chandra weighed in at 992 pages). Average per book this year was about 285 per book, doing it roughly.
