I Bet More People Know Nationwide Now At Least

Whatever your opinion on the matter, presuming you have any at all, I bet more people know of Nationwide now.

Personally, I didn’t watch the Super Bowl. I also didn’t watch the Super Bowl commercials. I don’t care much for football, and I don’t care much for commercials regardless whether or not they’re supposed to be the best commercials we get. I did however hear about the furor over the Nationwide Super Bowl commercial.

Whether or not it was overly depressing, shock manipulative, inappropriate, or any of those things…I bet more people know of Nationwide now than they did before. To some extend brand familiarity is a goal of commercials, even if people get ticked. It sounds like some people got ticked, but I bet people getting ticked increased the penetrating power of the commercial.

So was the commercial successful or not?
