Why Do I Like Bacon On My Burger Only If There’s Also Peanut Butter?

I know that bacon is one of nature’s most perfect foods. I know this. However, I’ve never been fond of bacon on a burger (burger, cheeseburger, whatever). I adore them separately, but I never really wanted the bacon on my burger itself. The combination just didn’t do much for me, leaving me craving the individual flavors of the bacon and the burger separately.

So why do I like peanut butter bacon burgers?

Seriously, I finally tried one at some point and now I’m craving these things. Bacon and burger together, meh. Add peanut butter and I can’t get enough (with or without cheese). I’m not even as fond of the peanut butter and burger together without the bacon.

Why is this?

Maybe I’m just odd. I know bacon is supposed to make everything better and peanut butter on a burger horrifies a lot of people. Still, I don’t want bacon on my burger unless there’s also peanut butter. If so, I’m all in.

I just can’t figure it out.
