This Box Lies

This box lies.

Remember it? I got this set for Christmas, or one that looks amazingly like it, back in the early to mid eighties. I had endless fun with it, but contrary to what the box indicated, mine did not belong to a “great magician.” “Magician” alone was going a bit too far in my case, much less with any additional terms such as “great.” “Some jerk kid’s magic set” might have been more accurate.

I mean, I had fun, but there’s no reason to lie.
